Business Administration

The Department was established over three decades ago. It is responsible for the co-ordination and direction of all matters pertaining to the management of the Hotel Management programme. In addition to this responsibility, the department contributes in various academic disciplines pursued by different students in the College. Staff of the department teach business management courses to students undertaking the hotel management programme and also to students pursuing other hospitality and tourism courses in other academic departments of the College.

The courses include: Accounting; Marketing; Human Resource Management; Entrepreneurship; Economics’ Principles of Organization; Business Communication, Facilities Management; Research Methods; Statistics, Law, Administration and  Management, Supervision, Behavioural Science and Financial Management.

The department’s core business is to offer training for students of the college and personnel employees of the hospitality and tourism industry; but over the years, it has built a capacity and potential to effectively offer consultancy and managerial services in various aspects of hospitality operations.
