Welcome to a tour of Kenya Utalii College (KUC) on the World Wide Web. In developing the form and content of this website, we have emphasized easy accessibility and readability. This is a perfect forum for interaction and exchange of ideas, complete with an up to date feedback mechanism.
Since its inception, over three decades ago, KUC has grown tremendously in size and scope. It has become a great institution of international repute. With over 40,000 graduates to date, the College remains the single largest producer of skilled personnel for the hospitality and tourism industry.
Our recent recognition by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation as one of its only 28 centres of academic excellence in hotel and tourism training gives the College and its graduates a special place in the global tourism arena. This is a honour we are taking very seriously as we work towards remaining a top notch academic institution. It goes to show that KUC has remained what it was meant to be: an indisputable centre of excellence.

Furthermore, KUC has had a long standing bond with the tourism industry and its players. It is a bond no hammer is strong enough to break. This bond has enabled the College to remain abreast of the prevailing and fast changing trends in the hospitality and tourism sector. Indeed, this is the bond that has put us ahead of the pack in the filed of training; training in which we offer students a unique and splendid blend of theory and practice.
Consequently, our relationship with the industry has continued to give our alumni a distinct edge in the market. With a KUC qualification, one will never get it wrong; one is assured to go places; indeed, one is cut out for greater things in career progression.

True, Utalii College has always been number one in hospitality training, but, as expected, we now face challenges of remaining number one. We have to keep a pace with the fast changing needs of the hospitality and tourism industry; we have to embrace automation in the way we train and offer services; most importantly, we have to expand to reach many people in and out of Kenya who have waited for our services for so long.
These challenges notwithstanding, we pledge to keep up the trend of excellence in line with our vision to be the world’s leader in hospitality training. To this end, plans are at an advanced stage to upgrade a number of our courses, currently offered at diploma level, to degree status. We have, at the same time, introduced parallel study programmes for some courses. We are, also, working out modalities to start similar programmes in all courses to cope with the ever rising demand for training chances at the College. We plan to expand out of Nairobi to start satellite campuses in Mombasa, Kisumu and Nakuru in the near future.
